Custom Implementation

Event Organizer: The New Yorker Festival Event

Event Video Sponsor: HSBC

Goal: Amplify HSBC sponsorship of New Yorker Festival to an online audience and to reward HSBC card holders with free access to this annual event which brings together writers, thinkers, artists, and other luminaries.

Engagement: A deeply branded, immersive viewing environment that extended messaging across FORA.tv, newyorker.com, and dozens of influential blogs, while providing a unique registration and viewing experience for HSBC cardholders.

Activation: A custom registration engine which “auto-recognized” HSBC card holders and directed them to a red carpet registration and viewing experience. Onine video extended HSBC messaging to a global audience via pre-roll and display placements.

PLACEMENTS

Display Units

FORA.tv supports standard display units that can be targeted to your Partner Channel on FORA.tv, event page, live stream page, and on-demand video programs. Event sponsors receive 100% SOV (share of voice), maximizing their branding’s impact and their messaging’s click-through potential.

728 x 90 (Leaderboard)
A leaderboard is a horizontal display banner found typically at the top or very bottom of a page.

300 x 250 (Medium Rectangle)
A medium rectangle unit is a nearly square banner that is usually placed on the right side of the page. On pages with a video player this unit is displayed adjacent to the player.

300 x 600 (XL Rectangle)
An XL rectangle is a highly visible unit that is found on the right side of a page.

Full Page Skin

Design Requirements

  • Page cutout must have a 100% white background, center aligned, and match site width of 980px (.psd template available upon request)
  • Outer and bottom edges of creative must fade to background for smooth transition (no hard borders)
  • Busy backgrounds and bright colors are not recommended and are subject to approval
  • Minimal or no copy preferred outside of logo(s) and tagline
  • Animated skins not permitted

  • Format: .jpg or .gif and/or layered .psd (.psd template available upon request)
  • File Size: 200k max
  • Dimensions (in pixels): 1600 x 800 with all critical elements within 1280 x 800 area
  • Background Color: #232323 (for fade-to background color)

  • Please allow 10 business days for approval and implementation

Sponsor Messaging

FORA.tv offers the ability to place your sponsor’s messaging and logo near the live stream or on-demand video. This includes about-the-fold visability and a link to your website.

Specifications

  • The sponsor messaging unit is 300 x 100 pixels
  • Messaging copy must not exceed 165 characters and may contain a sponsor logo
  • Message options include: Sponsored by, Presented by, or Brought to You by (other options available) and may include a link or clickable text/logo
  • Link must launch a new browser tab/page when clicked

Video Pre-Roll

Video pre-roll carries your sponsor’s branding as a short video inserted before your event video programs begin playing on FORA.tv or wherever your event video may be embedded. FORA.tv’s sponsor reporting will track and measure impressions, viewer engagement and click-throughs.

  • Recommended length: 7-15 seconds, up to 30 seconds accepted
  • Dimensions (in pixels): 640 x 360 (16:9) or 640 x 480 (4:3)
  • File size: 200MB max
  • Recommended file format: .mov, .flv, .mp4, or VAST tags
  • Looping restriction: 1

Video Overlay

The overlay unit displays while the viewer is watching an on-demand video on FORA.tv or wherever the video is embedded. The unit can be programmed to serve at any time during the video and will appear for 10 – 30 seconds before the viewer clicks on it or closes it.

  • File size: 50k max
  • Recommended file format: .swf, .jpg, .png, .gif
  • No sound
  • Maximum animation length: 10 seconds
  • Transparency: Minimum 80% transparency should be maintained

In-Video Branding

Add your sponsor’s branding to your event video programs so that their branding becomes part of the media files themselves. This way, your sponsor’s branding is always present whether the video programs are viewed on FORA.tv, embedded on another site, or downloaded to a mobile device. In-video branding can include an “opening slate” or short motion graphic at the start of each video program, your sponsor’s logo “watermarked” in the corner of the video image, or via “text” appearing in the lower third of the video image.

Text

  • Copy will appear in lower third of video image

Lead Generation/Downloads

Event video and downloads of supplemental materials like whitepapers are powerful options for event sponsors interested in lead generation. FORA.tv will work with you and your event sponsor to craft a strategy that meets their prospecting needs including registration to join the live stream of your event, watch on-demand video programs, or download white papers or supplemental materials from your sponsor.

Specifications

  • Registration forms must provide disclosure of how data will be shared and comply with FORA.tv’s privacy policy
  • White papers available for download after registration must be in .pdf file format and should not exceed 200 MB
  • Supplemental materials, including videos, available for download after registration must be in commonly accepted file formats
  • Contact your FORA.tv sales representative for custom lead generation implementations
